Very disappointing, a poor imitation of Agatha Christie's The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. An unbelievable narrator, a plot thar frequently gets lost in useless description and pointless characters, all for the obvious purpose of creating red herrings that don't fool anyone. Even the ending, supposedly so original, is an anticlimax. Plenty of other good mysteries to read. This is at best worth a few hours under a beach umbrella!

Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening her husband Gabriel returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face, and then never speaks another word.
